Open Monday and Sunday evenings

We have extended our opening hours.

From now on we are also open on Mondays from 17:30 to 22:30.

On Sundays we serve not only lunch from 11:30 to 15:00, but also dinner from 17:00 to 20:30.

Tuesday remains our day off — the kitchen needs it, the tiled stove likes it, and so do we.

History

How the Schlössla became ours.

The Schlössla was meant to close its doors. But instead of looking for a new job, chef Christian Umhauer and regular guest Andreas Hans took a bold step: they took over the Schlössla — and kept its story going.

“A few beers later, half a notepad was full of scribbles.”

— Christian Umhauer

For over ten years the two have run the Schlössla with real dedication. In 2017 their crusted Schäufele was first voted “Best Schäufele in the region”. Six years later came the second title — with 642 votes and a clear lead. nordbayern.de reported.

The house

The Schlössla has been welcoming guests for over 170 years. The half-timbered house on Vacher Straße originally belonged to the outbuildings of the “garden house of the Geleitsmann Seyfried”, a hunting and summer lodge from 1698. The Schlössla — the little castle — carries that name with pride to this day.

Christian Umhauer

Owner & chef

As the chef at the Schlössla, Christian Umhauer did not want to watch the inn close its doors. Together with regular guest Andreas Hans he took over the restaurant. Today he cooks Franconian classics with passion — and his crispy Schäufele was voted “Best Schäufele in the region” in 2017 and 2023.

Andreas Hans

Co-owner

From regular guest to co-owner. Andreas looks after purchasing, preparation and service — and, together with Christian, makes sure our guests feel completely at home.

Come by.

Best to reserve, especially at the weekend.
